  • SPEAK UP Contact your legislators and
government agencies about environmental
laws and issues. Ask questions. Encourage
friends and family members to do what you’re doing.

  • TURN OFF THE TAP while you brush
your teeth, wash dishes, or wipe the counters.

  • PLANT A TREE on the west side of your
house, where the leaves will block infrared radiation and keep the house cool in summer.

  • UNPLUG YOUR COMPUTER AT NIGHT
even though your computer may be off, it still uses
a lot of electricity.
  • DON'T FLUSH YOUR LITTER throw it away.
toxins in the poop kill sea otters that live in the sea
where toiletwater goes.

  • TURN OFF YOUR LIGHTS when you leave a
room, turn off the lights. If it's a sunny day, you can open
the blind,and light the light come in.


  • START A COMPOST PILE all the food you throw
away doesn't need to be thrown away. put it in a pile in
your backyard and it will decompose. The result is, protien
rich soil, that you can use for gardening.

Turn off the lights when you leave a room. If it's a bright sunny day you don't even need lamps, just open the blinds and your room should be filled with sunlight. Start a compost pile. These are just a few suggestions.
